May Resident of the Month
May 21, 2025
Say hello to our wonderful Resident of the Month, Edna Villios! Born on December 14, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio, Edna has lived a life full of heart, creativity, and service. Growing up in Westlake with her sister, Edna attended St. Colman’s Catholic School and graduated from West High School in Cleveland. Her love of learning never stopped—later in life, she took music and art classes at Cuyahoga Community College and Baldwin Wallace, simply because she loved them.
Faith has always been a cornerstone in Edna’s life. She is deeply proud of her Christian values and the kindness she shares with those around her is a true reflection of her beliefs.
After high school, Edna spent 23 years working with the government at the Electric Speed Indicator, where she helped make instruments that detected wind and speed for ships—talk about important work! She later married the love of her life, Jim, and together they shared 40 beautiful years. They had one daughter, two granddaughters, and two cherished cats who made their home feel complete. In the winter, the family loved to head south for sunshine and relaxation.
Edna has always had a creative spirit. She sold Tupperware and found joy in crocheting, a skill she picked up at just six years old! One of her most touching hobbies was crocheting toys for children at Providence House, showing her heart for helping others.
Her favorites? A refreshing McDonald’s Sweet Tea, anything pasta, and of course—cheesecake for dessert!
We are so lucky to have Edna in our community at Huntington Woods. Her kindness, wisdom, and stories are a true gift to all of us.
