May 5, 2024May is known as Mental Health Month. Here at Huntington Woods, we strive to provide mental health support and services for our residents and staff.
Here are some ways to practice healthy mental health:
-Relaxation and meditation- find time in your busy schedule to relax and/or meditate.
-Sleep- practice a healthy and disciplined sleep schedule to ensure each day you are feeling well-rested and prepared for what’s to come.
-Physical Health- a walk in nature, an exercise routine, physical activity, are all ways that can help keep your body and mind healthy.
-Talk to someone- if you feel that you may need someone to talk to- do not hesitate. Reach out to receive the help you deserve.
How we help our residents:
-Dr. Eric Berko- Dr. Berko provides support for residents who would like someone to talk to, to help them work through their hurdles.
-Psych 360- residents can utilize Psych 360 for medication needs.
-Staff- we provide a helping hand, an ear to listen and trust for residents who find comfort in confiding with our staff.
-Diet- our kitchen staff provides scheduled, healthy meals. We cater to each individual’s specific dietary needs. Water is passed out on each shift, as well as hydration carts throughout the day.
Helpful Tips:
-Set goals and priorities- find goals to work towards daily, and set and practice priorities to reduce stress.
