June Resident of the Month
June 15, 2022
Our team members have the pleasure of working with wonderful residents every day at Huntington Woods. Getting to know each and every one of our residents and building those relationships is such an honor. Once a month, we like to highlight one of our incredible residents, and this month's highlight is Carole Boarke!
Carole was born on June 26, 1931, to Irving and Cornelia in Parma, Ohio. At the age of five, it was recognized that she had an artistic talent, and her father would take her by trolley car every Saturday to the Cleveland Museum of Art for classes. Carole won many awards as a teenager, and upon graduation from the Cleveland Institute of Art, she worked in advertising for several years until finally achieving her goal of working at American Greetings.
June Resident of the Month - Carole Boarke!
Carole ended up leaving American Greetings and went to work for a private studio where she illustrated children’s books, greeting cards, wallpaper, educational books and toys. Her greatest achievement was in the '90s when she illustrated the Toddler’s Bible and won an award for her illustrations. She even displayed a few pieces of her work in her room.
It's been a pleasure having Carole at Huntington Woods and getting to know her more!
