A Heartfelt Letter to Our Staff

All of us at Huntington Woods are so humbled to receive a letter like this from a recent family. It touches our hearts to feel the true impact our care has on residents and families alike. We know that finding a long-term care facility or rehabilitation center can be difficult, and we thank you for entrusting us with your care.

"I just wanted to say I am more than impressed with your facility and your team. Lee started by reaching out on a positive note with a tour and answering important questions.

I was in communication with Melinda prior to bringing Mom to the facility and knowing exactly financially what was expected and continued to work with me for guidance on Mom’s finances going forward with Medicaid.

I brought Mom(Linda) on Monday, 4/17/23, and she was greeted with a wheelchair next to the car by Matt and taken to her room. As I was bringing in her personal belongings, the dietary worker made sure Mom got dinner and a PB&J if she didn’t like the menu item. She was greeted by Bella, who is a JOY! She got her comfortably to bed, inventoried her belongings and gave us a general overview. Her Nurse, Matt, made sure she was assessed and got her important paperwork completed. Anything outstanding was communicated to Tia. Tia, so friendly, called Tuesday to clarify any medication questions and ask about other important services she would be interested in; i.e. psych, dental and vision. Victoria, the Dietician, called to go over Mom’s nutrition and dietary preferences since her nutrition has been a big issue and she cannot get stronger, etc. without the proper fuel. Vicki, her Nurse, called to give me an update about Mom and was friendly, informative and kind.

Communication is key and starting on the right foot is awesome! The staff is so friendly and positive! I can tell you I have not had this much communication from the other three SNFs she has been in; it is wonderful and refreshing!

Being in healthcare, I understand everyone is short on time, staff and resources, and I want to take the time to let you know that your place is a gem and I wanted to give my kudos! Keep up the great work!"
